Regardless of the angling method of choice, consider practicing catch-and-release, especially on waters that harbor wild and holdover fish. A trout is a reusable and often a renewable resource, and does not have to be destroyed to be enjoyed. Also consider pinching done the barbs on your flies, spinners and bait hooks. Hookups are actually made easier and quicker because barbless hooks penetrate faster. In addition, less harm is done to fish that are going to be released.
