Laurel Run (Sidman)
Laurel Run is located along Roberts Road and Route 160, flowing past Sidman and into the South Fork of the Little Conemaugh River just east of the access road to the Johnstown Flood Memorial. This Laurel Run is a small stream that is very accessible due to the number of bridges and turn-off points along the way. The stream's best water is located behind the Dunlo Sportsman's Club in Dunlo. Parking is available across the street from the club and the water is located in the clubs interior. The members do allow non-members to fish the stream because the water is not privately owned by the club.
Although Laurel Run does not have a strong insect population, it does have a very healthy and profound minnow population. These minnows are the primary food source for the fish, and because of the vast numbers of minnows the stream contains many holdover fish.
Fish - Laurel Run is stocked by the Fish & Boat Commission and Dunlo Sportsman's Club in the section behind their clubhouse. The Fish & Boat Commission stocks the water mostly at the bridges because the access is easiest at these points. Brown, brook and rainbow trout are stocked by the Commission both in-season and out-of-season.
