MLTU assisted with the construction of the bridge over Maple Run that enables access to the parking lot located adjacent to the Fly Fishing Only section of Yellow Creek off Jack's Corner Road. This project of the Yellow Creek Coalition solved the problem of a lack of vehicle parking that had limited angler access and put potential stress on land owner relations. The parking lot and bridge has addressed these issues in a positive way.
The parking area includes a commemorative sign dedicated to Bill McIlnay, who championed the concept of special regulations on Yellow Creek with the PA Fish Boat Commission. There is also a memorial that recognizes those who have passed that have been instrumental in the resource enhancements in the watershed. Additionally, there is current angler and resource information always available at the parking area to assist the visiting angler and non-angler to enjoy the natural resources of the Yellow Creek watershed.
